The person in the story starts to see prophesizing, lifelike dreams, and begins to connect them to real-life tragic events. As she finds similarities, she drifts off to the edge of insanity, perhaps further. This path finally leads her to the River Pielinen, to stop what she fears might happen.
In the song ”Serpent of Streams” we dive into the world of myths. The person in the story wanders along the banks of the River Pielinen, looking for signs of ancient beliefs. She dives deep beneath the surface into the world of myths, that ultimately leads her to reflect on our own blindness to our world.
”When Empires Fall” is the opening song on the album the band released in June 2025, titled ”The River Flows With You”. The song found its final form as one of the last finished songs while they worked on the album, and it was never originally intended to be the opening track. The lyrics are about human greed, and how it affects individuals and nature. The story also became a description for the effects of extreme imperialism with the worst imaginable outcomes, which is handled through the lens of a family living in Finland, North Karelia, Pielisjoki. The story's narration has several roles; those with too much power, and the parent of young children.
